FINE DETAILS

Terms of Service

Effective date: the date these terms are posted on getfinedetails.com

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Fine Details, owned and operated by Samuel Allen in Louisville, Kentucky ("Fine Details," "we," "us"), to you ("Customer," "you"). By booking (including through our Square booking page), confirming by message, or allowing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

We offer mobile hand washes, full details, interior detailing, driveway/exterior pressure cleaning, gutter cleaning, and leaf removal. Full details do not include paint correction, machine compounding, or scratch removal. We do not offer headlight restoration, window cleaning, or lawn mowing. Service descriptions on our site are general; the specific work is what is quoted or booked.

2. Quotes, Photos, and Surcharges

Quotes are estimates based on the information and photos you provide. If the actual condition differs, we may adjust the price before or during service. We may charge additional fees, at our reasonable discretion, for excessive pet hair, excessive dirt, sand, mud, or debris, mold or mildew, and biohazards (including bodily fluids, vomit, feces, blood, needles, or pests). We will tell you before adding a surcharge when practical. We may decline any biohazard work entirely.

3. Pre-Existing Conditions and Inspection

We inspect and may photograph or video your vehicle or property before work begins. Fine Details is not responsible for pre-existing conditions or for damage resulting from them, including but not limited to: scratches, swirls, and scuffs; dents and dings; rock chips; loose, brittle, or damaged trim, emblems, moldings, or wipers; worn, faded, torn, stained, or cracked upholstery, leather, vinyl, or headliners; failing, oxidized, or peeling clear coat or paint; aftermarket parts, wraps, films, tint, decals, and accessories; prior body or paint repairs; and electrical or mechanical issues. Cleaning can reveal existing defects previously hidden by dirt; revealing a defect is not causing one. Absence of a condition from our notes or photos does not mean it did not exist.

4. Personal Items

Please remove all personal belongings, valuables, cash, electronics, and car seats before service. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or discarded items left in the vehicle or work area. Items found may be bagged and left in the vehicle. Loose papers, trash, and items of apparent low value may be treated as trash. Time spent removing excessive belongings may be billed.

5. Water, Power, and Access

Unless we agree otherwise, you will provide access to a working outdoor water spigot and electrical outlet within reasonable distance, and a safe, legal place to work. You confirm you own the vehicle/property or are authorized to have work done. Any HOA, landlord, or permit rules are your responsibility. If we cannot access water, power, the vehicle, or the property at the appointment time, this counts as a no-show.

6. Pressure Washing and Exterior Cleaning Risks

Pressure and surface cleaning carries inherent risks. You acknowledge and accept that we are not responsible for: loose, peeling, or failing paint or stain; old, cracked, spalling, or weak concrete, asphalt, pavers, or mortar; existing sealants and coatings; etching or "wand marks" on soft surfaces; water entering through failing seals, windows, doors, or vents; damage to landscaping, plants, mulch, or lawn from water, runoff, or cleaning solutions; or items left in the work area. Some stains (rust, oil, tire marks, organic staining, efflorescence) may not fully come out. Please tell us about any fragile surfaces beforehand.

Gutter Cleaning

Gutter cleaning may require ladders and limited roof access at your property; you grant us that access and agree to tell us about any known hazards (fragile roofing, loose railings, power lines, aggressive animals). We are not responsible for pre-existing gutter damage; loose, sagging, rotted, or poorly attached gutters, fascia, soffits, or downspouts; brittle, loose, or damaged shingles; or debris clogs in underground drains or drain lines. Gutters may move, leak, or detach during normal cleaning if already worn or improperly installed. Normal ladder marks or minor scuffs on gutters or siding are not damage.

Leaf Removal

Leaves can hide objects. We are not responsible for damage to hidden objects, sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, landscape lighting, cables, pet fencing, decorations, or similar items not clearly marked by you before service. Please mark or remove these items in advance.

7. No Guarantee of Specific Results

We use professional effort and care, but we do not guarantee removal of permanent or set-in stains, odors (including smoke and pet), dye transfer, water spots, etching, or other conditions. Pricing is for labor and effort, not a guaranteed outcome.

8. Weather

We may reschedule for rain, extreme heat or cold, high wind, lightning, or other unsafe conditions, at no charge to either party. If weather interrupts service in progress, we may complete it at a later time. Results affected by weather after we leave (rain, pollen, dust) are not grounds for a re-do or refund.

9. Cancellations and No-Shows

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) will be charged a $25 fee. A no-show, including a locked or inaccessible vehicle or property, no access to water or power, or failing to respond when we arrive, will be charged a $50 fee. For returning customers, we may waive the first instance at our discretion. Deposits, if taken, may be applied to these fees. We may cancel or reschedule for weather, safety, illness, or equipment issues, and will offer a new time or refund any deposit.

10. Payment

Payment is due in full upon completion of service unless a deposit or prepayment is required at booking. We accept payment through Square and other methods we approve. You authorize us to charge the card on file for the service, approved surcharges, and any cancellation or no-show fees described here. Unpaid balances may incur reasonable collection costs where permitted by law. Please raise a concern with us directly before disputing a charge with your card issuer.

11. Claims Must Be Reported Within 24 Hours

Inspect your vehicle or property when we finish. Any claim of damage or unsatisfactory work must be reported to us in writing at sammy@getfinedetails.com within 24 hours of service completion, with clear photos. Claims not reported within this window, or after the vehicle has been driven, washed, or serviced by others in a way that prevents verification, are waived to the fullest extent permitted by law. We must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, at our option, re-perform the service or repair before any other remedy.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Kentucky law, Fine Details' total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use, rental vehicles, lost time, or diminished value. Our sole obligation for unsatisfactory work is, at our option, to re-perform the affected service or refund all or part of the price paid. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Fine Details and Samuel Allen, and its workers and agents, from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms; inaccurate information you provide; your lack of authority to authorize work; hazardous conditions, pets, or biohazards at the service location; or claims by third parties (including landlords, HOAs, co-owners, or neighbors) related to work you requested.

14. Right to Refuse Service

We may refuse or stop service at any time for unsafe conditions, biohazards, aggressive animals, harassment, conditions outside our scope, or any lawful reason. If we stop before finishing for reasons not caused by you, you pay only for work completed.

15. Photos and Marketing

You consent to our taking before, during, and after photos and video of your vehicle or property and using them for records and for marketing (website, social media, ads). We will blur or crop license plates, faces, and house numbers. You may opt out of marketing use at any time by telling us before service or emailing us; we will stop future use and remove posts we control within a reasonable time.

16. Communications

You agree we may contact you by text, phone, email, or Messenger about your service. See our Privacy Policy.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Jefferson County, Kentucky (including small claims court where eligible), and you consent to that venue. [Attorney: consider informal-resolution step and/or arbitration clause.]

18. General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, any written quote, and any signed inspection checklist form the entire agreement; if they conflict, the signed checklist controls for that service. We may update these Terms; the version in effect at booking applies.
